Breakfast is included with every stay at Heron's Nest Sanctuary, a one-room bed and breakfast in Mont Carmel, PEI. It is served from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The menu includes cooked breakfasts, fruit, yogurt, a smoothie and drinks, so guests can see their options before they book.
What can you order for a cooked breakfast?
The menu starts with eggs your way: two eggs with toast, home fries and a choice of bacon, ham or sausage. Fluffy scrambled eggs are served over toast points with tarragon hollandaise. There is also a breakfast sandwich with fried eggs, ham, cheddar, arugula and herb mayo on an English muffin.
The vegetarian omelette comes with mushrooms, onion, peppers, spinach and feta, plus toast and home fries. If an ingredient matters to you, check the menu and ask Brian and Beverly about it before you arrive.
Are there sweet or lighter choices?
Waffles and French toast can be served plain or with seasonal fruit, icing sugar and maple syrup. The breakfast bowl combines Greek yogurt, organic granola, chia seeds, seasonal fruit and coconut flakes. A separate fresh fruit bowl is listed, along with a tropical protein smoothie made with banana, passion fruit, strawberries and mangoes.
Muffins, bagels and toast with preserves are also listed with every breakfast. Drinks include coffee, tea, milk and a choice of orange, apple or cranberry juice. Fruit choices can change with the season.
If you have a food allergy, dietary restriction or question about an ingredient, ask Brian and Beverly before booking. The menu describes the dishes, but it does not make a separate allergy-safe preparation promise.
What if you have an early start?
Breakfast service begins at 7:30 a.m. If you have a tee time, a ferry or a long drive planned, compare that start time with when you need to leave. Do not assume an earlier breakfast is available. Brian and Beverly can answer a timing question before you book.
The serving window also leaves room for a slower morning. Guests can eat and then spend time in the gardens before heading toward Summerside, about twenty minutes away, or out along the North Cape Coastal Drive.
How does breakfast fit into the stay?
Heron's Nest has one private guest room for up to two people in Brian and Beverly's home. The bathroom, kitchen and common areas are shared with the hosts. Breakfast is included with the room, while current prices and available dates are shown on Airbnb.
